Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday constituted a high-power committee for making necessary recommendation regarding reservation of seats for students of government high schools in engineering and medical colleges of the State.
The Committee is to recommend reservation of seats for the students of government high schools in the engineering and medical courses of the state.
Retired Judge of Orissa High Court, Justice AK Mishra will act as the chairperson of the panel while other members are Utkal University former Vice-Chancellor Ashok Das, former Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, former head of the Laser and Plasma Technology Division at BARC and Vice Chairperson, Odisha State Higher Education Council; Dr CBK Mohanty, Director, Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Odisha; B.S. Poonia, Chairman, Council of High Secondary Education; G. Reghu, Director, Technical Education and Training.
Joint Secretary to Government, SD&TE Department, AK Nayak, has been appointed Member Convenor of the committee.
The state Cabinet had taken a decision to reserve a percentage of seats for students pursuing their schooling from government-run schools in Odisha in December meeting.
