New Delhi: There is a recommendation to grant permission to the Serum Institute of India (SII) to conduct the second and third phases of human clinical trials of the Oxford vaccine candidate, NDTV reported.
The recommendations of the subject expert committee on COVID-19 at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) have been sent to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for approval, NDTV reported sources as telling PTI.
According to the revised proposal, 1,600 people above the age of 18 will participate in the trials across 17 selected sites. These are: AIIMS Delhi, BJ Medical College, Pune, Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS) Patna, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, AIIMS Jodhpur, Nehru Hospital in Gorakhpur, Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research in Mysuru, the report added.
