Baripada: Police arrested an alleged wildlife smuggler and rescued a pangolin from him in Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Sindhu Baske, a resident of Gahirapala in Bangiriposhi police station area.
Sources said following a tip-off an illegal sale of pangolin, the District Superintendent of Police formed a team. With the help of Bangiriposhi police, the team rescued the pangolin weighing 8 kg from Baske.
Further investigation is on, police said.
