Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped locals after an elephant strayed into the Bharatpur colony area in Khandagiri here on Wednesday.
According to sources, the tusker is suspected to have entered the area in search of food and then wreaked havoc in the area.
The elephant reportedly damaged walls and uprooted the trees.
On the other hand, the forest department officials are keeping track of the movement of the tusker. The efforts are on to drive away the tusker.
It seems there is no end to the human-animal conflict as such incidents have been reported time and again from several parts of Odisha.
