Khurda: Panic gripped Khurda town as a tusker strayed into the residential areas on Friday night and damaged properties.
According to sources, the tusker was first spotted near the district collector’s office. Later, it moved to the EVM godown and pulled down its compound wall.
After some time, the tusker walked along the National Highway 16 and was found inside Janaki Ballav Park.
Panicked by the movement of the tusker in the town, the locals tried to drive it away from the park. Disturbed by the large number of people chasing after it, the elephant moved towards Barunei forest, said the sources.
