Mumbai: Pankaj Tripathi is hopping mad. So much so that he is mulling action against the makers of the film ‘Azamgarh’.
Kamlesh K Mishra’s feature film, based on some real incidents related to terrorism, was made some years ago, but couldn’t be released on time.
Pankaj, one of the busiest and most talented actors, has played a cameo role of Maulvi who leads the youth to the path of terrorism.
He wasn’t aware that the makers had decided to finally release the 90-minute film on an OTT platform – Mask TV — and came to know only after seeing the posters and hoardings of ‘Azamgarh’, India Today reported quoting sources.
What has irked the ‘Mirzapur’ actor is the fact that his name is being used to promote the film, with the posters featuring him as the main figure in Maulvi’s attire.
If the film’s makers don’t change the poster, Pankaj is likely to take legal action against them.
It comes at a time when Pankaj’s focus is on the theatrical release of ‘Oh My God 2’, a sequel to the 2012 hit ‘OMG’.
Directed by Amit Rai, ‘Oh My God 2’ also stars Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam and is scheduled to release on March 15.
