Mumbai: Pankaj Tripathi’s sister and brother-in-law were involved in a horrific road accident in Dhanbad on Saturday.

The National Award-winning actor’s brother-in-law Rakesh Tiwari died in the mishap, while his sister Sabita was injured.

The accident took place at Nirsa Bazar on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2 as the car in which the couple was travelling hit a road divider.

According to officials, Rakesh and Sabita were travelling to West Bengal from Bihar’s Gopalganj district.

They were rushed to Dhanbad’s Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), where doctors declared Rakesh as brought dead.

Sabita suffered a leg fracture, but is out of danger, SNMMCH Emergency head Dr Dinesh Kumar Gindauria told PTI.
