Rayagada: The Utkal Alumina International Ltd (UAIL), a subsidiary of Aditya Birla group, has launched ‘Papa Ki Pari’, an awareness programme to eradicate the social evil of child marriage as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, in Rayagada district.
The two-year project strives to highlight the terrible impact of child marriage on the underage girls and aims at strangulating the practice completely through activities like group meetings, seminars, audio-visual presentations and trainings in the peripheral villages.
Moreover, the company organized a one-day training programme for adolescent girls in which over 100 girls from 10 nearby villages participated.
