Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik extended his support to Odisha police and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in their campaign against the rise in atrocities against women, with his ‘Save Paree’ sand art at Odisha’s Puri beach on Monday.
Sudarsan also tweeted, “Children are our greatest treasure. Let’s all unite to bring an end to Child Sexual Abuse. #SaveParee #ENDviolence. My SandArt at Puri beach in Odisha”
Odisha police, in association with the UNICEF, had launched a fortnight-long State-wide community awareness campaign ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ (a word for the little angel) against child sexual abuse recently. The campaign aimed to spread awareness among communities, families and parents so as to prevent child sexual abuse.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had flagged off specially designed and decorative 15 ‘Paree Express Vans,’ which have been travelling across the state to cover all 30 districts.
Appreciating Patnaik’s sand art, DGP Dr RP Sharma, in his tweet, said, “Thanks for your excellent Sand Art to propagate the awareness campaign to #SaveParee”
