Nayagarh: The chargesheet submitted by Odisha Crime Branch’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Nayagarh Children’s Court on Tuesday stated that no chemicals were used to decompose the body of the five-year-old girl, who was found dead under mysterious circumstance in Odisha’s Jadupur village.

The girl went missing while playing in front of her house on July 14 and her skeletal remains were recovered in a sack behind the house near a pond on July 23.

As the anatomical identity of individual organs was destroyed due to the advanced decomposition, it was beyond scientific feasibility to determine whether any organ was removed before or after the death, it further said.

Talking to mediapersons, Bijayi Mishra, the counsel of the accused minor girl, said that the hastiness in which the Crime Branch reeks of political motivation.

“Expressing displeasure over the mode of investigation, the Supreme Court on January 13 had issued notice to the CB and the Odisha government and directed them to furnish a reply with a stipulated time period. Realising that the deadline is not far away, the SIT hastily submitted the chargesheet which can be used as a plea to thwart a CBI probe in this case,” said the counsel.
