Bhubaneswar: In view of the traffic congestion on the stretch from Rajmahal Square to AG Square, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday, imposed restrictions on parking of vehicles in the area.
There will be no two-wheeler parking on the stretch on both sides of the road. Two wheeler owners will have to park at the old cycle stand near Capital Police Station. Only single lane car parking will be allowed on the left side of the road close to the footpath at a 45 degree angle from Rajmahal Square to AG Square.
Besides, fruit or any other kind of vendors with or without push carts will also not be allowed. Footpaths will be left free for pedestrians and there will be no encroachments on them, the notice said.
In case of violation of the provisions, a compoundable fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003.
