New Delhi: BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, who suffered head injuries in the scuffle between Opposition and NDA members at Parliament’s Makr Dwar last week, were discharged from Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Monday.
The 69-year-old Sarangi, MP from Odisha’s Balasore, and UP’s Rajput were brought to the hospital from Parliament on December 19.
They were initially kept under observation in the ICU and shifted to a ward on Saturday.
A senior doctor said the condition of the two MPs is better now, reported ANI.
“Both the MPs were discharged in the morning… Their BP is under control now. They have been kept on SOS medication. We will continue the follow-up on their health condition,” said Dr Ajay Shukla.
Sarangi has a heart problem history and a stent in his heart, according to doctors.
According to Dr Shukla, Sarangi was bleeding profusely when he was brought to the hospital. “He had a deep cut on his forehead and it had to be stitched,” the doctor said.
“Rajput also had a head injury immediately after which he lost consciousness. However, the MP was in his senses when he was brought to the hospital. His blood pressure levels had shot up,” Dr Shukla had said.
MRI and CT scans were conducted, which didn’t reveal any significant finding.
