Sambalpur: A portion of the perimeter wall of JSW Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd at Thelkoloi in Sambalpur collapsed on Friday, submerging farmlands in Banjhiberana area with water laced with iron ore particles.
According to reports, a poultry farm and some vehicles of the plant were also submerged.
JCBs were pressed into service to remove the collapsed wall and company workers were trying to stop the flow of water and repair the wall, the reports said.
Rengali tehsildar Damayanti Sahoo rushed to the spot after the incident.
