Kalahandi: In view of rising COVID-19 cases, the Sarpanch Kahnai Charan Das on Thursday announced a partial shutdown at Ladugaon panchayat under Koksara Block in the district.
“Even though the shutdown is imposed to prevent the spread of infection, emergency services were exempted,” Das said.
According to Das, Ladugaon has 11 rice mills, shops and markets with many industries where thousands of people come every day. However, there is a risk that the infection will spread as people do not comply with the COVID norms.
Sarpanch Das also said that such a move was aimed at preventing further spread of COVID-19 virus. The shops and markets will remain open from 7 am to 2 pm.
