Baripada: A man was killed and at least 20 others sustained grievous injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned on National Highway 18 near Kuliana chowk in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Nilambar Mahanta of Jashipur.
According to sources, the bus was on its way from Khiching to Baripada when the driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle overturned
On getting the information, local police arrived at the spot and launched the rescue operation as many passengers were suspected to be stuck under the vehicle. While 30 passengers were injured, 20 among them sustained critical injuries.
All the injured passengers were rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital, Baripada, for immediate assistance.
