New Delhi: Several flights at Delhi airport, both arrivals and departures, have been diverted or delayed after a huge storm, accompanied by heavy rain and gusty winds, lashed the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday morning.
Hundreds of passengers are stranded with early morning flights departing Delhi being rescheduled.
As per Delhi Airport website, over 40 departures have been delayed due to bad weather. Around 18 arrivals at the airport have been delayed. Two flights have been cancelled, ANI reported.
Airport authorities requested passengers to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. “Due to bad weather, flight operations at Delhi airport are affected. Passengers are requested to get in touch with the airline concerned for updated flight information,” Delhi Airport tweeted.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said thundershowers with moderate rainfall and gusty winds with speeds of 60-90 kmph will continue over Delhi and NCR for the next couple of hours.
