Bhubaneswar: After 12 days, Big Bazaar at Patia was reopened on Wednesday after the mall owner complied with all norms.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had sealed the shopping mall on February 20, following a directive by the Odisha Development Authority (ODA) Court of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) for violating parking and fire safety norms.
“After the mall obtained the fire safety certificate and demolished illegal structures in the parking area at the basement, the court ordered for opening the seal,” said Pramod Kumar Prusty, Zonal Deputy Commissioner-North, BMC.
The BMC then initiated the process of removing the seal and making the building operational, he added.
