Nuapada: A patient died while three others suffered grievous injuries when an ambulance in which they were travelling rammed a divider at Bireskela under Boden police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district during early hours on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Janak Manahira of Dharanimala village.
According to sources, the accident took place while they were returning home after being discharged from a private hospital in Raipur. Janak died at the spot while his two attendants and the driver were critically injured in the crash and were rushed to the community health centre at Boden for treatment by the locals.
Police have seized the ambulance and sent the body to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem. An investigation into the mishap is underway.
