Cuttack: A man reportedly escaped from the ICU of the COVID isolation ward at SCB Medical College and Hospital here late on Tuesday.
The family members of the patient from Mahanga in Kendrapada district have lodged a complaint in this regard at Mangalabag Medical Outpost.
The complainant said that they had admitted their kin to the COVID isolation ward at SCB on August 5. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the ICU. However, the authorities told them this morning that he fled the hospital around 3 am.
Acting on the complaint, police have begun an investigation.
