Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the state capital following the death of a patient on Saturday night.
Sources said Nanda Kishore Pradhan, a native of Chhotraipur village near Bhubaneswar was admitted to AIIMS on Saturday night. But he died while undergoing treatment in the late night hours.
Alleging that the patient had died due to improper treatment, the kin of the deceased had a heated argument with the doctors.
Sources said some doctors with their associates attacked one of the kin of the deceased who is now under treatment at the AIIMS.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged with the Khandagiri Police by a kin against these doctors.
Apprehending trouble, one platoon of police force has been deployed at AIIMS.
A senior police official told the media that the body has been sent for post mortem while necessary action would be taken after verifying CCTV footage on the incident that had taken place between the doctors and the kin of the deceased.
