Bhubaneswar: Fire department officers carried out a detailed
inspection of fire safety standards at 30 hospitals in Nayagarh,
Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal districts on Friday.
The surprise inspection was performed at different hospitals in these
three districts. During the inspection, the fire personnel checked whether
the authorities of the hospitals have complied with the suggestions
and norms under the Fire Protection and Safety Act or not. They also
asked the doctors and other employees of the hospitals to ensure that
patients’ safety is not compromised at any cost.
“Notices will be served to those flouting fire safety norms. Action will be taken against them as non-adherence of these rules can lead to major fire mishaps,” Director General, Fire Services, Bijay Kumar Sharma said.
