Puri: The Patitapabana Bana (holy flag), which is fixed to the Nilachakra atop Jagannath temple, will be replaced with a smaller flag on Wednesday.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) took this decision as cyclone Fani may land in Puri on May 3. A 5-ft long flag will be fixed on the Nilachakra till May 5.
The temple administration has also taken other precautionary measures for smooth service of Lord Jagannath during the possible natural disaster.
Notably, the cyclonic storm Fani, is likely to make landfall near Balukhand in Puri district on the evening on May 3.
