Patro meets Paswan, seeks more rice for state under NFSA

Bhubaneswar: Food supplies and consumer welfare minister Surya Narayan Patro on Thursday met Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence in New Delhi and requested him to increase the rice quota for Odisha under National Food Security Act (NFSA).
“I also requested him to increase the number of NFSA beneficiaries by 27 lakh as the current list is based on 2011 Census and population grows at the rate of 7 per cent per annum. The Union Minister has assured to look into these demands,” Patro told mediapersons after the meeting.
