Bhubaneswar: The enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday imposed penalty on two restaurants in the city for violating the COVID-19 guidelines.
The BMC squad carried out COVID-19 norms enforcement drive in the areas under it south-east zone on the day. During the drive, the officials found Chancellor Restaurant and Appetite Restaurant in Saheed Nagar not following the orders of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on dining restriction and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each restaurant.
On Tuesday, the SRC had issued the order prohibiting sit-in dining in any hotel or restaurant from April 21.
All hotels/restaurants/street food joints can take online orders and deliver the same. The customers can go to such places only for take-away. No one should be allowed to eat at the spot, the SRC ordered.
