Bhubaneswar: Over 40 people aboard a boat, which got stuck in Chilika Lake near Mahisa due to a technical snag, reached Satapada in Odisha’s Puri district safely on Sunday.
According to sources, the incident took place when the boat was en route to Satapada from Jahnikuda. The office of Special Relief Commissioner directed Fire Service personnel to initiate immediate rescue operation. “The machine was changed and all people have reached safely at Satapada as per the inputs received from Tehsildar Brahmagiri, Krushnaprasad and Fire officer,” the SRC added.
