Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday urged people to take the COVID booster dose in view of the upcoming festive season.
The free COVID vaccination drive is underway at 1,100 centres. “More than one crore people have been inoculated with the booster dose,” said state Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi.
Meanwhile, the daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below the 200-mark again after a day’s gap on Saturday with 146 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 203 infections on Friday and 180 on Thursday.
As per the state I & PR Department’s report, 86 cases are from quarantine and 60 local contacts. Of the fresh cases, 13 are in the 0-18 years age group. The test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.16% and the state now has 1,327 active cases.
