People Of Cutoff Area In Malkangiri Withdraw Stir

Malkangiri: People of five panchayats in the cutoff areas of Chitrakonda block in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Monday put their proposed agitation on hold following the district administration’s assurance to expedite developmental works in their area.

Protesting against the apathy of the district administration for depriving them of the basic amenities, about 1500 people of Jantri, Panasput, Jodamba, Andrapalli and Gajalbadi arrived at Chitrakonda block in a launch on Monday morning. As they were about to proceed to the district headquarters, deputy collector of Malkangiri Rameswar Pradhan meet and assured them of providing basic amenities and expediting developmental works in their area.

Following the assurance, they withdrew their agitation.
