Rayagada: Hitting out at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government over alleged misgovernance, veteran leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday claimed that people of Odisha want Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Addressing an election meeting of BJP at Rayagada under Koraput Parliamentary constituency, the Defence Minister claimed that every citizen of Odisha is saying that BJP is all set to win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming polls.

Stating that he has visited Odisha several times, the senior BJP leader said this time he is witnessing a changed atmosphere in the state.

“This time the atmosphere is quite different. When we ask people about the expected election result, everybody is stating that BJP will win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state,” he said during his whirlwind tour of Odisha to campaign for BJP candidates for the upcoming simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Coming down heavily on the Naveen Patnaik government, Singh said BJD has deprived the people of Odisha of the benefits of a number of Central schemes, including Ayushman Bharat Yojana. If BJP is voted to power in the state, Ayushman Bharat scheme would be implemented immediately and people will be able to get proper benefit of PM Awas Yojana, he said.

The Defence Minister urged the people to vote in favour of BJP candidates both in Lok Sabha and assembly polls.

Singh added that cutting across caste, creed and religion, all the people at the age of 70 years or above would be covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Singh also lashed out at Congress and said from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh, none was able to eradicate poverty despite their tall claims.

It is only Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been successful in this regard, he said, adding that poverty would be completely eradicated in India in the next 10-15 years and this is ‘Modi Ki guarantee’.

PM Modi has already pulled 25 crore people out of poverty in just 10 years, the BJP leader said at the ‘Vyjay Sankalp’ rally at Rayagada under Koraput Lok Sabha seat.

“There would be no family left in India which would not have a pucca house, pipe drinking water and LPG gas connection in the next 5 years,” he added.

The Defence Minister also claimed that during the Modi government, terrorism has almost come to an end due to timely and strong action against terrorists.

Claiming that the BJP does what it says, Singh said the Modi government has abolished Article 370, ended the triple talaq practice and installed Sri Ram Lala’s statue at Ayodhya as promised earlier.

Singh, who is also the chairman of BJP’s manifesto committee, said each promise made in the party’s manifesto is a “Modi Ki Guarantee”.
