Nayagarh: Minister Arun Sahoo on Thursday warned officials of stern action for negligence of duty and misconduct.
Sending a loud and clear message he said perform or perish. “If you will work, do it, if not, then go out.”
Sahoo, who holds the portfolios of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Higher Education reminded the officials of his departments of the actions taken by the state government under ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme.
Chairing a review meeting at Nayagarh, his Assembly Constituency, the Minister also directed the district authorities to spend funds allocated in the budget in a time-bound manner.
He asked the officials to plan, estimate and float tenders accordingly. If the targets are not met by March 31, the officials will have to explain why the assignments allotted to them could not be finished by the deadline, he added.
Stating that the works come under 5T mandates, he hoped that the officials will work effectively and show results by following the guidelines.
“We will order the higher authorities recommending strong action against those who will be found guilty of misconduct or negligence during the period of service,” Sahoo informed mediapersons after the meeting.
