Berhampur: Some personnel of Bada Bazar police station in the city will be put under quarantine after an accused arrested by them tested positive for COVID-19.
The accused and his accomplice were arrested by the Bada Bazar police in a dacoity case and sent to the Berhampur Circle Jail one week ago. One of the two accused tested positive and the other negative.
Some personnel of the police station had come in contact with the two accused during the arrest and the process of producing them before the court, sources said.
Meanwhile, the swab samples of most of the officers and the staff of Golanthara, Gopalpur and Berhampur Sadar police stations under Berhampur police district are being tested and the report is yet to come.
In another development, journalists heaved a sigh of relief after the swab test of two scribes tested negative. Swabs of the two journalists were sent for corona test after they suffered from cold and flu recently.
