Bhubaneswar: An employee of a petrol filling station in Odisha capital was seriously injured as he was attacked by three miscreants on Monday evening.
According to sources, the three youths had lined up along with others at the petrol pump in the rush hour. After putting the petrol in their motorcycle, the trio did not pay for it.
When the filling station employee demanded the money, the youths started beating him and created a ruckus at the place. They also threatened some people with weapons. As some consumers and petrol pump staff tried to stop the attackers, the latter hit the employee with an axe.
As the victim started bleeding, the accused tried to flee. But the people at the filling station captured them and handed them over to the police.
The employee, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The accused, belonging to Satya Nagar, have been detained at Badagada police station and were being questioned, the sources said.
