Chennai: Imagine discovering one fine day that a few crores have been deposited in your bank account!
And what if that amount happens to be a few hundred crores?
Well, a pharmacy worker in Chennai had such a bizarre experience when his bank account was credited with a whopping Rs 753 crore.
Muhammad Idris, having transferred Rs 2,000 from his Kotak Mahindra Bank account to a friend on Friday, wanted to check his balance post the ransaction.
He couldn’t believe what he saw.
Idris immediately reported this unusual occurrence to the bank, which froze his account.
Two similar incidents were reported from Tamil Nadu earlier.

Chennai taxi driver Rajkumar discovered that his Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank account suddenly showed a balance of Rs 9,000 crore. Once the bank was informed, the excess money was withdrawn from his account.
Ganesan, from Thanjavur, was stunned to find Rs 756 crore in his bank account. Normalcy was restored after the bank was informed of the bizarre amount.
