Puri: Authorities of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) have begun probing into the uploading of a photo of the presiding deities of Puri on social media, temple administration officers said on Thursday.
Though clicking photographs inside the world-famous 12th century shrine is prohibited, repeated violations have come to the fore in recent months with photographs of the deities and the temple interiors getting viral on social media. This has raised serious concerned about the shrine security.
According to FB, the account is in the name of one Sanket Mishra, who has introduced himself as an Odissi dancer.
SJTA Public Relations Officer (PRO) Laxmidhar Pujapanda said the photo uploaded on social media is of the deities on Adapa Mandap of Sri Gundicha Temple, not the Shri Jagannath Temple.
He informed that SJTA authorities are probing into the incident and will take appropriate action against the concerned person.
