Bhubaneswar: Phulbani was the coldest place in Odisha on Wednesday, with the minimum temperature dipping to 8.6 degree Celsius.
Daringbadi, which was in the news recently for reeling under a severe cold wave for several days in a row, saw a minimum of 9 degree Celsius. G Udayagiri was 8.8 degree Celsius, while Similiguda and Titlagarh recorded 9.1 degree Celsius and 9.8 degree Celsius respectively.
Sonepur was the foggiest, with visibility reduced to less than 200 metres.
Barring Gopalpur and Puri, no other place reported a minimum temperature above 15 degrees. While Gopalpur was 15.9 degrees, Puri recorded a minimum of 15.5 degree Celsius. In Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the night temperature dropped to 12. 2 and 12.6 degrees respectively.
At 17 degrees, Chatrapur recorded the highest minimum temperature.
In its forecast, the state MeT department here said there would be not much change in the minimum temperatures in the next two days, subsequent to which a gradual rise by 3 to 4 degrees in the next 3-4 days was likely.
