New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Twenty-six tableau, including 16 from states and union territories, trundle down Kartavya Path as part of the 75th Republic Day parade in Delhi on Friday morning.
The tableau from Odisha, showcased talent and entrepreneurial skills of woman of heritage craft village of Raghurajpur in Puri district. The 45-ft long, 14-ft wide and 16-ft high tableau included two components – a replica of a Kandarpa Hati, a popular Pattachitra design, depicting Krishna Leela where nine women are entangled with each other to form the shape of an elephant, with Lord Krishna sitting on top of it and and women artisans of Raghurajpur village.
A group of Sambalpuri folk dancers accompanied the tableau, spreading colours and culture of the state.
The Centre has now invited people to vote for their favourite tableau from states, central government ministries and marching contingents by visiting this website. The voting line is open till 5 am on January 27.
People of Odisha can also vote for the Pattachitra tableau through SMS using their registered mobile number.
