New Delhi: Pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi in Jammu was opened for the devotees on Sunday, nearly five months after being suspended on March 18 due to COOVID-19 pandemic.
The visit to the holy cave shrine has been permitted with some restrictions including the number of people to be allowed every day in view of the COVID-19 guidelines, according to a news agency.
In the first week of the pilgrimage, 2,000 devotees will be allowed. Of them, 1,900 will be from Jammu and Kashmir and the rest from the outside. “The government has come out with a detailed SOP and the pilgrims are requested to follow the guidelines,” the agency quoted Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board CEO Ramesh Kumar as saying.
