Pilot Vehicle Of Odisha Minister Overturns, 6 Cops Injured

Paralakhemundi: Six cops – an ASI, a havildar and four constables – were injured when the pilot vehicle of Minister of State for ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Jagannath Saraka overturned at Uliapada village under Adaba police limits in Gajapati district on Sunday morning.

According to sources, the accident took place while the minister was on his way to Rayagada from Bhubaneswar. The vehicle was escorting Saraka from Paralakhemundi. The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a person, who suddenly appeared on the road.

The injured cops have been admitted to Birikote primary health centre and their condition is stated to be stable.

Another vehicle was provided to escort the Minister’s vehicle to Rayagada, the sources added.
