Bhubaneswar: Supply of pipe drinking water in the state may be hit from this midnight with the members of Odisha State Water Supply and Sanitation Employees’ Coordination Committee threatening to launch a ceasework across the state.
“We have tried to draw the state government’s attention towards our demand for job regularisation on several occasions. But ironically the government has always shown a dilly-dally attitude forcing us to go on an indefinite strike”, a member of the association alleged.
The pipe water supply employees are on strike in Bhubaneswar for the last 103 days after the government failed hold discussion with us to resolve our issue even after serving a notice pertaining to our genuine demand, the member added.
