Bhubaneswar: The ongoing mega piped water supply projects in 7 blocks of Odisha’s Cuttack district will be operational from January next year.
This was revealed during a review meeting on the mega projects by Secretary to chief minister (5T) VK Pandian on Tuesday. Pandian visited the district to review the progress of various developmental works and redressal of public grievances.
He reviewed the piped water supply projects coming up at a cost of Rs 1,258 crore in Athagarh, Tigiria, Tangi Choudwar, Narsinghpur, Baramba, Mahanga and Nischintakoili blocks. He directed the officials to ensure completion of the projects within time.
He discussed development of Dhabaleswar Temple of Athagarh, Bhattarika Temple at Baramba and Pragalapitha Temple at Narsinghpur. He directed the administration to consult the temple committee and local people while preparing the DPR for development of the temple with focus on the facilities for the pilgrims.
He visited CHC Hospital and Dialysis Centre at Narsinghpur and interacted with the doctors, staff, patients and attendants for its further development. Participating in the public grievance meetings at Athagarh, Narsinghpur, Choudwar and Nischintakoili, he interacted with the public.
In Choudwar, he discussed re-development of the OTM area as an industrial hub and sought cooperation of the local people.
The secretary interacted with the students of different Junior and Degree colleges of the district at the Upper Baliyatra Ground in the city. He informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs 63 crore for inclusion of all colleges of the district under 5T transformation project.
Special Secretary to CM R Vineel Krishna, RDC Suresh Dalei, Collector BS Chayani and other district officials accompanied Pandian during his visit.
