Bhubaneswar: Regular water supply would resume in some areas of Odisha capital, which have been facing problems for the last two days due to a crack in the pipeline at Kuakhai bank, by evening, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das informed on Sunday.
According to sources, piped water supply was disrupted at Rasulgarh, GGP Colony, Mancheswar, Chakeisiani, and Pandra areas in the city and people were seeing make beeline at tankers being sent by Watco to meet their daily needs. Some also fetch waster from house with borewell.
“A leakage was detected in a major pipeline line in division 1 near Saptasati temple. The repair work took two days as the leakage in the pipeline was found about 22 ft under a two-storey building and proper care had to be taken to ensure no damage to the house,” the Mayor told mediapersons.
There will be no problem in water supply from now on, she added.
