Puri: On the last day of filing of nominations for Pipili bypoll, Congress candidate Ajit Mangaraj, filed his nomination at Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Office here on Tuesday.
Mangaraj was accompanied by Odisha Pradesh Congress Chief (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik, Cuttack DCC president Manas Choudhary, Odisha Youth Congress former president Rajat Choudhary and supporters.
Mangaraj had lost his deposit in the 2019 Assembly elections from Pipili.
The OPCC had recommended three names for the Assembly seat to the party’s Central leadership who selected Mangaraj.
Rudra Pratap Maharathy of BJD and Ashrit Pattnayak of the BJP are also in the fray for the byelection scheduled on April 17.
