Pipili Bypoll: Final List Of Cong Candidate Before March 30, Says OPCC Chief

Bhubaneswar: With the bypoll to Pipili Assembly constituency scheduled on April 17, Odisha Congress on Wednesday said the final list of the party candidate will be announced before March 30.

Talking to mediapersons here, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said three candidates – Ajit Mangaraj, Purna Swain and Nishikanta Mishra –  have been shortlisted and sent to AICC. The AICC will pick one of them as the candidate for the bypoll, he added.

Stating that OPCC has prepared a list of 30 star campaigners from the Centre and the state, he said although there is a fall in the voting percentage of Congress in the country, OPCC will contest the bypoll to win.
