Puri: The voter turnout in the ongoing bypoll to Pipili Assembly constituency was 7.8 per cent by 9 am on Thursday.
Till reports last came in, polling in booth number-161 at Laxminarayanpur was delayed due to a technical glitch in the electronic voting machine (EVM).
Voting was earlier delayed at booth-203 in Nuasasan Dakhina Sahi due to EVM malfunction. EVM glitches were also reported at booth no. 177 & 139(A).
The voting had begun amid tight security with 201 of the 348 polling stations identified as sensitive.
