Puri/Bhubaneswar: The voter turnout in the ongoing by-election to Pipili constituency is all set to cross 70 per cent.
As per the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 68.40 per cent voters had exercise their franchise by 5 pm.
CEO Sushil Kumar Lohani said the final voter turnout will be announced after the polling is completed at 6 pm. The turnout is expected to increase further due to dry weather, he added.
The voter turnout which was 7.8 per cent by 9 am went up to went up to 24.76 per cent by 11 am, 45.32 per cent by 1 pm and 59.72 per cent by 3 pm.
