Places Of Worship To Open In This State From Monday

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has decided to open temples and other places of worship in the state from Monday.

According to the guidelines issued by the government, wearing the mask will be compulsory inside the premises and all COVID norms will have to be followed.

In a public address via video-conferencing, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier said, “We will open the temples and places of worship soon. Let Diwali be over. But even when we open the temples, you can leave your chappals [slippers] outside but not your mask.”

The places of worships in Maharashtra have been closed since March amid the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the opposition BJP, backed by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, has been mounting a campaign to have them reopened, NDTV reported.
