Bhubaneswar: The one-day tour of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to Rayagada district on Wednesday morning was delayed as the plane in which he was travelling, could not land at Langigarh because of bad weather. It was instead diverted to Jeypore.
According to sources, the Chief Minister was scheduled to arrive at Khaliguda in Rayagada district at 11.45 am. Instead of landing at the airstrip at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district, the air ambulance was diverted to Jeypore at around 11 am.
As per the schedule, the Chief Minister was scheduled to leave Lanjigarh in a helicopter to Rayagada.
Till reports last came in, the Chief Minister was taken to the circuit house in Jeypore. He will leave for Raygada shortly by a chopper, an hour behind schedule.
Reports of the chief minister’s aircraft making an emergency landing at Jeypore are totally baseless, the sources added.
