Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 5 crore each for COVID-19 management in Sundargarh and Jajpur districts.
Naveen said that Plasma Bank will be started at IGH, Rourkela, and it will supply plasma to various districts in western Odisha.
“Sundargarh district has already spent Rs 20 crore from DMF for COVID Management. Further, Rs 15 crore will be spent in the next three months for strengthening dedicated COVID Hospital and COVID Care centres,” he said.
The COVID Care Centre in Rourkela will be expanded from 700 beds to 1700 beds capacity, he added.
The CM also had words of praise for the Sundargarh district team for achieving a high recovery rate of 85 per cent.
“I am glad to know that the district administration is working closely with Corporates like RSP, NTPC, MCL, OCL for creating COVID Care Homes and COVID Care Centres,” he said.
In Rourkela, the focus shall be on surveillance, door-to-door survey, testing and containment zones. Special attention to be given to slum areas and congested localities, he added.
Appreciating the high recovery rate of 86.5 per in Jajpur district, Naveen said that the situation is under control despite homecoming of more than 26000 migrants.
“The district will be spending Rs 13.5 crores from DMF to enhance COVID Care system to fight the pandemic. Additional 250 beds will be operationalised in the COVID Care Centre in Jajpur,” he said.
The district will create partnerships with corporates and industry for establishing COVID Care Homes and COVID Care centres, he added.
