Rourkela: Police arrested a top insurgent of the Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI), Sudama Singh, from Bisra near Rourkela in Sundargarh district on Thursday. A pistol and some bullets were seized from his possession.
Police said Sudama was the area commander of PLFI in Jharkhand’s Bano area.
Rourkela SP K Siva Subramani said Sudama, who is a native of Badaikela in Jharkhand, had joined the insurgent outfit in 2007.
“Sudama was involved in the murder of a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and BJP leader in Jharkhand. He was also involved in several bank dacoity cases. More than 15 cases, including seven of murder, were lodged against him at different police stations in Jharkhand and Odisha,” the SP added.
