Cuttack: Registration for allotment of plots for 8-day Cuttack’s Historic Bali Jatra, Asia’s biggest open-air trade fair on the banks of the Mahanadi near Gadagadia Ghat, began on Friday.
The applications will be accepted online at https://baliyatra.net or offline at Barabati Palace from 11 am to 5 pm (except government holidays) for a Rs 100 fee till October 6. Applicants can apply for up to three plots, with a Rs 5,000 registration fee per plot.
Addressing a presser on Wednesday, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) and Bali Jatra plot allotment committee chairman Dibyalochan Mahanta informed that individuals or institutions can apply for a maximum of only three plots but they will have to deposit an initial registration amount of Rs 5,000 for each plot.
In case of multiple applications for a single, an auction will be held to determine the allottee. The auction process will begin from October 13 with minimum bids of Rs 40, Rs 50 and Rs 60, per sq ft. Small traders will get up to 80 sq ft of space for Rs 1,500. Some plots will be reserved for ORMAS and government agencies.
A total of 1,670 stalls will be allowed this Bali Jatra, which will be held only at the lower ground, he added.
