Bhubaneswar: To ensure transparency in the evaluation of answer sheets of the annual Plus II papers, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has decided to install CCTV cameras in all offline and online evaluation centres from this year.

In a letter, CHSE chairperson Amarendra Patnaik asked the the supervisors of all offline and online evaluation centres to take necessary steps to install CCTV cameras at their respective centres. The evaluation process will start from the third week of March.

Apart from this, the Council has decided to install CCTV cameras in all 1091 examination centres.

The CCTV cameras will be installed in the strong room where all the answer sheets which have been evaluated or to be evaluated will be stored along with mark foil and the report of the examiners and other important papers.

The CCTV footage in all rooms of the evaluation centres would be recorded and stored so that the Council will verify the footage if there is any complaint regarding irregular evaluation. Besides, the Council has also directed the supervisors to make arrangements for internet connectivity with the CCTV cameras so that the Council officials will monitor the evaluation process from the headquarters office.

Apart from this, the Council has also asked the supervisors to complete the necessary repair of the examination hubs by February 23 and seek the assistance of the district administration and the local police to ensure fool-proof security of these hubs. Besides, they have been asked to engage security guards of the concerned educational institutions which have been made as examination hubs for additional security.

The annual Plus II theory examinations in Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational Education will begin from March 7 and conclude on March 30.
